Clot activator tubes are primarily used to collect blood for serum-based tests, where the serum, the liquid part of blood after clotting, is needed for analysis. They contain a clot activator, often in the form of silica particles, which promotes rapid blood clotting. This allows for the separation of serum from cells and other blood components via centrifugation.

It is same as Serum tubes, some call it as a serum and some as clot activator tubes. It is generally used for serum tests in the fields of serum biochemistry and serum immunology.

It contains Silica to activate clotting of the specimen, and a gel that forms a barrier between the clot and the serum after centrifugation. The gel acts as a barrier and prevents the serum from getting damaged while transportation or movement.

It is red cap tubes which contains clot activator also known as Serum Separator Tubes(Blood Collection Tubes). It is generally used for serum tests in the fields of serum biochemistry and serum immunology.
